Preschool Program

Our Preschool program serves 10-13 children ages 2 years, 9 months through 4 years. Two full-time teachers educate and care for our preschoolers.

The Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten programs operate on a developmental philosophy aimed towards learning and achievement. We believe that play is children's work, and we provide a wide variety of play opportunities for children to grow in a secure and stimulating environment. Within specific curriculum topics, children are encouraged to use fantasy/pretend play, build with blocks, create with crayons, glue, paint, markers, scissors, and play dough; work with puzzles and pegs; enjoy children's literature; and explore sand, water, and nature. Our playground has a sandbox, climbing structures, swings, and tricycles for large motor play.

Social and emotional strength are vital to confident learning and we help all children develop a positive self-image and skills that they can use to play and work cooperatively with others. We want children to learn to respect each other but also to be confident in standing up for their own rights. Children learn to express anger and frustration verbally and to find solutions that will work for everyone involved.
